Competence and reliability

Doeve Brokers / Sworn Experts operates both nationally and internationally. In part through the placement of our entire range of boats for sale on national and international sites, the regular insertion of ads in several nautical magazines here and abroad, and the exchange of data regarding our boats for sale with numerous external brokerage colleagues.

Doeve Brokers / Sworn Experts are specialists in the fields of:

• Mediation in purchase and sale of yachts motor and sailing and especially for (former) commercial vessels, whether or not already converted for living and/or navigation, located domestically and abroad.
• Expertises, even international (on behalf of banks and tax services, for property separations, etc.).
• Registration in the Dutch cadastral register (for inland navigation vessels), registration and transfer, as well as the deregistration of boats in the register. At your request, we carry out research in the cadastral registers abroad.

Craftsmanship

Doeve, Brokers / Sworn Experts, started under the name «Scheepskoopers Jachtmakelaardij» (Scheepskoopers Boat Broker) in Vlaardingen (Netherlands) in 1972. We operated not only in boat brokerage but also a shipyard in Lelystad (PB), from 1977 to mid-1996. Between 1988 and 1996, we had a second agency with a sales port in Hellevoetsluis (PB). We sold Scheepskoopers Boat Broker in 1996. Our brokerage company then restarted under the name «Sander Doeve Jachtmakelaardij» (Sander Doeve Boat Broker). The brokerage was transformed into a V.O.F. (general partnership) in 2009 under the name ‘Doeve Brokers and Valuers of boats and ships’. In 2001, Jitse Doeve joined the company. He had previously navigated for several years on the Rhine and inland and coastal waterways. In 2016, Rick Buis joined the team in Vlaardingen (PB).

The EMCI Certificate (European Maritime Certification Institute):

A sworn and certified broker/expert is your guarantee for competence and reliability (emci-register.com). He/She has been deeply tested for certification regarding acquired knowledge, business understanding, and integrity (the past of his/her business). He/She must provide evidence of his/her continuing education each year. The broker also participates voluntarily in the disciplinary and claims law of the EMCI. In case of false acts, the institute can revoke his/her certificate. EMCI stands for: European Maritime Certification Institute. An independent institute (SA) recognized by the “Lloyds Register”.

Reliability

Doeve Brokers / Sworn Experts are Hiswa Qualified Yacht & Ship Brokers. A broker recognized by the Dutch Association of Yachting Professionals (HISWA). We operate according to the brokerage conditions of HISWA. They are established in good agreement with the ANWB, the ‘Consumentenbond and the Consumentencontact’ (the defenders of the interests of Dutch consumers). The brokerage conditions are accepted by the “SER” (the economic and social council of the Netherlands). In case of disputes with a broker recognized by HISWA, clients can make use of the nautical disputes commission in The Hague (PB).

Regarding payments and the handling of temporary third-party funds, Doeve Brokers / Sworn Experts has a foundation for handling third-party funds.
The foundation is entirely legally isolated from Doeve Brokers / Sworn Experts and consequently provides security for buyers and sellers!

The company Doeve Brokers / Sworn Experts is a member of HISWA (www.hiswa.nl). Jitse and Rick are personally affiliated with NBMS (Dutch Association of Boat Brokers) www.nbms.nl.
