To start your season well and sail with peace of mind, here are some tips:
Check the boat's safety equipment: Expiration date of flares, the extinguisher, and renewal of the coastal block if necessary, this can save you trouble. Remember to check life jackets, the anchorage, safety equipment, sufficient mooring lines, and fenders. NEW: regulations are changing, you must now have 2 kill switches on the boat.
Check fishing gear, diving equipment, water sports accessories, depending on your needs. Do not forget sunscreen essentials and of course the cooler... for the fish, of course...????
When starting the engine: check battery charge. The heavy rains in recent weeks have put strain on bilge pumps and the boat's electrical system. Let the engine warm up and sail slowly at first. Engines haven’t run all winter, be gentle. Reminder: Enjoy and have fun.
Before leaving the boat: check the equipment, disconnect the kill switch, properly install the mooring lines and fenders, check the outdrive and the exterior of the hull, properly close lockers and access points and if possible rinse the boat with fresh water. Secure the various covers and protections well, we have disappearances every year.
Finally: Fully enjoy our beautiful region with its shops and restaurants.
