RARE! This livable barge was built in 1928 by the Chantier des Deux Saintes, with a length of 39 meters and a width of 5 meters, located between Reims and Soissons in Aisne (02)
The barge features the mariner's accommodation in the center, in its original oak state. Only 2 or 3 boats of this model remain. It has 2 separate holds.
Access is via the fore hold, which is fitted out as a livable apartment: a living room of 50 m² including the equipped kitchen with appliances (electric cooking hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher), and the lounge area. A wood stove (France Turbo) installed in 2011 heats the entire space.
An economical electric heating system (2004), which can also serve as an air conditioner, is also installed. Brightness is ensured by polished brass round portholes and a skylight (to be replaced - infiltration during storms). The fore peak is separated from the kitchen by a watertight door and is arranged as a pantry and wood storage.
A 10m² cabin with a porthole (same model), heated either by radiation from the wood stove or by the same reversed air conditioning system (see main room). A bathroom (10m²) with bathtub and shower (to be replaced) + a dressing room and a porthole.
Continuing on, the captain's cabin (renovation needed, notably insulation) (also with independent access to the outside), in original oak, with an original cupboard bed (view to the outside), a central room that can serve as an office/library. Two windows at the back. Possibility to install a wood stove.
Below the accommodation: a technical room that is insulated and closed, including a 150-liter electric hot water tank, a 1000-liter water tank, and a tank for wastewater treatment. Possibility to install the washing machine, water supply and discharge planned. A black water treatment system needs to be installed.
An empty hold (approximately 50m²) remains to be fitted out (insulation, electricity, creation of a bathroom...). Many possibilities, round polished brass portholes installed, flooring laid. Ideal for conversion into an additional bedroom or guest rooms or independent apartment.
The barge also has a canopy including the helm station, and the sailor's apartment in its original state (renovation needed, notably insulation) with direct access from the hold to be arranged.
A very accessible wooden terrace of 40m² is installed on the fitted apartment.

The community fee is valid until August 6, 2024. The decennial visit will therefore need to be scheduled and will be borne by the buyer.
The bottom of the barge was doubled in 2004, and the reconditioning of the port and starboard plates was done in 2014. To consider: exterior paintings, changing the clear view of the living room, the shower in the current bathroom to be changed, insulation of the central cabin, completing the fitting out of the second hold, creating another bathroom, installing a black water treatment system, renovating the cabin of the crew member and the canopy.

This barge was acquired in 2009 and €80,000 in maintenance work has been carried out since.
